The Glamorous WAHM Needs Your Prayers

Posted by The Glamorous WAHM on November 17, 2008

I really need your prayers everyone!  So, as you know I’ve been on a quest to work from home.  Well I’ve found something that I would really enjoy doing and could really make a great amount of money doing it!

I have applied for a freelance blogging position writing about parenting school age children.  There is A Lot of competition for this position.  But I know that if my Father in Heaven has this job for me then I don’t have to worry about the competition.

Please join me in praying that I am hired for the position.  My family really needs the extra income in the house.  I’m not asking for greed or gain. My husband and I just want to take care of our family without always having to worrry about where the money is going to come from.

Jesus tells us in the bible that where two or three are gathered in His name, there He is also.  So let’s gather together and pray I land this job!

But prayer is not just about me.  It’s about all of us. So if you have a need or prayer request sign Mr. Linky below and let’s all lift each other in prayer.  As brothers and sisters in Christ we are to bare each others burdens and share in each others joy!  :o )

Hey ya’ll!  I know I’ve been MIA but, please be patient with me as my family transitions into a new home.  The moving has been a nightmare and we are not finished yet.  I miss you a lot and can’t wait to get back to posting.  I have a lot to tell you!

I’m sitting right now with a stiff neck and killer headache.  But I just wanted to let you know I’ll be back soon.  Anybody want to come help us unpack? :o )

My First Glamorous Award!

Posted by The Glamorous WAHM on October 6, 2008

I have received my first award!  I am so happy.  Tara, over at Tara’s View of the World, kindly awarded me with the Proximidade award.  This beautiful Portuguese award represents how blogging brings us closer to one another.

“They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

I pass this award along with honor to:

1) An Island Life

2) My Sweet Life

3) Quiskaeya

4) Baby Bunching

5) Momisodes

6) All Because Two People Fell In Love

7) Suburban Turmoil

8) From Dates to Diapers, and beyond!

Let’s Take a Trip…

I’m Kenyatta and this is one of my four children, Alia.  It’s one of the only decent recent pics I have of myself.

Our city is known for its zoo and one of the main tourist attratcions here is The Old Market, which is a vintage area downtown, complete with cobble stone streets and horse drawn carriages.

We are also a part of Tornado Alley {and the Bible Belt! ;o) }, and are known to have some “killer” storms.

Blogger Frustration

Posted by The Glamorous WAHM on July 28, 2008

Frustrated_blogger_4 If you blog, you’ve had it.  I don’t care if you’ve been blogging for six months or six years.  At some point all of us bloggers have been plagued… with blogger frustration.  There are many reasons one might come down with blogger frustration, lack of ideas for content, lack of comments on our posts, lack of google page rank, which is a symptom that stems from lack of readers!

Some of us are striving for Dooce status and, some of us will be satisfied if, we can get just one visitor a day!  But no matter where we are on the blogging journey, we all have mountains to climb.  Sometimes we need those beneath us to give us a push and, sometimes we need those above us to reach down, and pull us up.  I was sent this email today and thought I would share it with my extended blogging family.  However, it applies to all who have mountains to climb.

YOU CLIMB A MOUNTAIN ONE STEP AT A TIME

Everyone who got where they are had to begin where they were.
Your opportunity for success is right in front of you.

To attain success or to reach your goal, don’t worry about
having all the answers in advance.
You just need to have a clear idea
of your goal and move toward it.

Don’t procrastinate when faced with a difficult problem.
Break your problems into parts and handle one part at a time.

Develop a tendency toward action.
You can make something happen today.
Break your big plan for success into small steps
and take the first step right away.

Success starts with a first step.
