Back in the day I had a love for fake fingernails. I loved getting the classy french manicure put on. However, what I didn’t like was the damage to my natural nail when, the fake ones came off. I naturally have nice nails but, they tend to split quite a bit. However, I am finding that with regular manicures, my nails are strong not breaking as much. Here is an interview with Raya Ionis, creator of the Rada Pro Nail Station. Find out why she says women should get regular manicures and pedicures.
Why should women get regular manicures?
Raya: Regular manicures are a great way to obtain and maintain healthy beautiful nails. Good grooming makes a great first impression and well manicured nails and healthy looking hands are an important part of that.
Do you recommend regular pedicures?
Raya: Yes. Regular pedicures help make feet feel and look better. A skilled nail technician will tend to calluses properly and help combat the damage that high heels, tight fitting shoes and boots cause. Plus there is nothing like pretty polished toes with a strappy summer sandal!
Why won?t polish stay on natural nails as long as it does on acrylics?
Raya: Polish does not stay on the natural nail like it does on acrylics because natural nails are porous and absorb oil and cream. Wash natural nails very well and wipe them off with polish remover before applying a base coat. The polish stays in place longer.
Is it important to use sunscreen on my hands?
Raya: Yes it is. Sun damage can result in premature aging of the skin, dryness and dark brown spots.
Is it better to shorten nails by clipping or filing?
Raya: If you need to shorten nails it is better to clip them first and finish shaping with a proper nail file.
What is the best way to care for my cuticles at home?
Raya: Massage cuticles with cuticle oil on regular bases to keep them soft and healthy.
What nail shape/length do you prefer for your own nails?
Raya: I prefer a medium length nail with a square shape.
