Hey Dad, it’s me again.  I must say it has felt pretty good keeping in touch with you.  I’ve been so busy with EVERYTHING that I’m not spending the time that I should with you.  However, Kirk Franklin, Tobymac, Trip Lee, Lecrae, and the Grits and I praise you every morning in the van!

I need to write to you today about some dear friends of mine who are really struggling right now and need your favor.  You know my best friend that I grew up with lost her dad a few months back.  Her parents are my parents, that’s how close we are.  Well I talked to mom yesterday and things are not going well for them and they may lose their house.  Since dad died things have really gone down hill for them.

Lord, its bad enough that they are suffering from the loss of their husband/father.  Can you send them a miracle?  Can you give them that peace that is beyond all understanding because it comes from you?  Please send them the finances they need to save their home that holds all of the memories of the husband and father that has been lost.  I know you can do it.

You know God, I thank you for every hard time and struggle that my hubby and I have encountered.  It has shown us how faithful you are to those that love you and it has given us a heart to want to help others.  I ask that you bless Angel and I with the finances to help those in need.  Do you know how bad I wish I could have asked my second mother how much money she needed and then given it to her?  It’s wonderful how charities and special causes are blessed by benefactors and donations but my heart is for the every day person.  I want to help the families who don’t make enough money to take care of their families but make too much money to get help from their state.

My heart is for the mothers who want to work but can’t afford child care and can’t get help from the state.  My heart is for the couple who has shut off notices for their gas and electricity.  My heart is for the family who lives right by Walmart but has no money for groceries. I want to help the families who have insurance but no money for the copay or who need to meet their deductible in order to see any benefit of having insurance. These are the people I want to help because my family has been each and every one of these people.

You have blessed us with family members and friends who have helped us along the way and we thank you so much.  Dad, I want you to bless us to be on the giving end.  To give back to those who have given so much to us, to bless those we don’t even know, to help the every day folk, for your light to shine through our family.  I know you can do it and I look forward to the day when I write the letter telling you about the joy of being able to help people and families and to let them know that you are the reason for it all!  Much love and praise,
