Sorry ya’ll but this is not a giveaway of three hundred thousand dollars. It is simply a question that I would love for you to answer. It would be too easy to ask what you would do if you hit the lottery. It’s no question you would be set. But, how about three hundred thousand dollars? It’s not enough to set you for life, unless you’re a finance wiz. However, it’s a good chunk of change and certainly it could change your life right?
Okay, so I’ll go first. Well I almost forgot (forgive me Lord!) but, I’d have to give the big Man upstairs ten percent. If I received three hundred thousand dollars right now, it could only be from the Lord honey! After that, I would pay off me and the hubby’s biggest debts, school loans, medical bills, and our minivan. I would then take thirty thousand dollars and, put half in a savings account with some serious interest and invest the other half in mutual funds. Now mind you, I would definitely seek the counsel of a recommended financial advisor. Next we have four children, two girls and two boys and there is a four bedroom house that we dream of having that costs 198,000.00 dollars. So, I would put 100,000.00 dollars down on our house and only have 98,000.00 to put into a 30 year fixed rate mortgage. I would put ten thousand dollars towards furniture and landscaping. I would spend fifteen thousand on a 2nd car for our family, twelve thousand to pay back and bless back everyone who has helped us. I would then spend five thousand dollars stocking up on clothes, and everything we need from Sams Club and Walmart for our family. And because I have actually written all of this out, we would still have five thousand dollars left after ALL of the above. I would take that and pay off the rest of our little debt utilities, collections, etc.
Add your site to Mr. Linky and tell me what you would do with three hundred thousand dollars!
Oh, how I’m praying for a miracle!

What would I do with 300,000, hmmm. I would buy a small home, pay off a few bills and a decent little car leave what little I had left to my children. Then I would go back to work like always!

This is a really cute post! The wheels in my head start turning, turning, turning! $300,000 would definitely be a nice chunk of change to receive! I would put a down payment on a house or townhouse for my boys & I, start the businesses that I dream of daily, generously give to a few children’s charities & invest the rest!
$300,000 is not that much in the scheme of things. I would pay off the mortgages, give to the church, put aside for the kids’ college educations. I might have enough left to buy a new pair of shoes.
Angela, $300,000 dollars is the lottery if your looking at your children and don’t know how you’re going to feed them. It’s a lot if the water company is coming to shut it off because you can’t pay the bill. It’s alot if you’re behind on every bill, can’t keep up with day to day expenses, and you and you’re spouse are both in college so you can provide better for your family. All, of which is VERY familiar to my family. You must really be blessed not to feel like you couldn’t do much with that amount of money.
This just maybe because I am a senior citizen and I believe wholeheartedly that ” Whatever we do for the least of these (children and seniors, we do it in Jesus name”. I would use 100 thousand dollars to send Natural Healthy products to seniors and children. Spend 100 thousand helping others get the tools that they need ( not want ) to attain their dreams. Invest the rest( with my finanancial advisor-who is already a multi-millionaire) use the interest to feed the hungry and myself.
I’m going to travel around the world but leave enough money to build my dream home.
